Be kind to each other (means the same as "one another")

.

Where will children learn kindness if not in Sunday school?
Perhaps at home. But if not, we are the guardians of kindness.

What does it mean to be kind?

So what is kindness?

Being kind is being a good person in your world.

A good guideline for kindness is the GOLDEN RULE.

Use these Ephesians and the Golden Rule worksheets to discuss to understand kindness

e-ticket to kindness

1. Students look-up Ephesians 4:32 and Matthew 7:12 or teacher can read them from here.
2. Ask each student what does "Being kind" mean to them. Tell them to remember what they said or write it on the board.
3 Offer this : Being kind is being a good person in YOUR world*.
4.Offer this: kindness used to be included in good manners sometimes called etiquette (et-eh-kit).

"Etiquette" -- think of it as an e-ticket to kindness. ( May be pronounced e-ticket as an easy way to relate as a pun) There were lots more rules of etiquette, but they weren't necessarily about kindness though they were rules on how to live in "polite society". Like 1. Always chew with your mouth closed. and 2. Do not eat off of a knife. Don't slurp your soup off the spoon, and don't wear white shoes after Labor Day.

5. Review the e-ticket for kindness worksheet. Go one idea at a time. Talk about what is written and then have each student think of an example of that aspect of kindness.
