PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS PAGES
|
WINDOWS EXPLORER As of Summer 2008, Internet Explorer version 7 or XP with updates has a printing bug!
LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS Microsoft glitch:
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO PRINT INSTRUCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES AS THEY WERE INTENDED: You should have no problem printing our pages in Windows Explorer if you use Print preview for printing:
When you see the preview screen, set it at 100% and print from the preview screen by clicking on the printer image. Be sure your page margins are at .5 (1/2 inch) all around. The animated left side of the page will not be printed - that's what I intended to save your ink! Be sure you are printing in portrait mode unless otherwise stated in the instructions.
|
FIREFOX - MOZILLA FIREFOX We apologize that Firefox cannot print the complete instructions due to a bug in their programming that does not print tables that span multiple pages. Here are two altenatives: |
It's really very simple in Internet Explorer, so if you are able, we recommend you use IE. |
Othere known issues: In Firefox, attempting to highlight and print a selected area does not work either for multiple page tables. |
![]() |
It is also recommended that you turn off the spell checker in Firefox, as with it on, it is likely it will stop printing if it encounters a misspelled word or one it does not recognize. |
PRINTING ACTIVITIES AND CRAFTS WEB PAGES |
Activity pages should print well in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, even when multiple craft parts are provided. Set your margins at .5 (1/2 inch) all around. Most
activities and crafts fill this area. Be sure you are printing in portrait mode.
In Internet Explorer, you can either: 1.Go to "File" on your menu bar (Usually
top left of your screen) and then click "print" If your printer gives you a smaller or too large (cut off) image, you can set "Scaling" in your print settings to compensate for the size you want. Scaling is most commonly found under "page setup" then "properties". In Firefox you can go to "File" on your menu bar (Usually top left of your screen) and then click "print". Margin settings are under "File", page setup then margins and footers. Scaling is available in this browser under "File", page setup, then format & Options.
|
Both best printed at 1024x768 or 800x600 screen settings as you may otherwise have unusual margin, scaling and modes setup. |
