Christmas Joy! Easy, long banner
3 easy pieces. Easiest cutting. Simple coloring.
Just a little more interesting than a long rectangle. The letters extend over the edge of the paper just a tad. The cutting is still very easy, but it has a unique look.
Great Christmas Fridge banner!
With a hole and some yarn, it is good to go as a doorknob hanger.
Great for a broad age group.
Over 20 inches long when done.
You may reduce the pieces on a copy machine to make smaller banners.
P3 (with simple cutting skills) through 4th grade
Advent and/or Christmas
No special preparation.
For older kids, the pattern will match, if they want to decorate that way. They should lay out all the pieces before coloring to see how they work together.
For the free spirits, it doesn't matter how they color it.
Color the three pieces, except in the space where it says "Glue this space, do not color". (see note above)
Cut on the heavy outside line only. Watch the shape. It's just a little different than straight lines.
Arrange the pieces on the table in the order they go:
Glue the space at the bottom end of the "J".
Put the top end of the "O" over the glue at the bottom of the J.
Glue the space at the bottom end of the "O".
Put the top end of the "Y" over the glue at the bottom of the O.
Go back to the top of the J and put glue on the BACK of the tab at the top. Fold the tab back so you don't see it.
Put your name on the back.
