1. Loaves and fishes
Mat 14:13-21 loaves and fishes miracle
13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted
place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot
from the towns. 14 When he went ashore, he saw a great crowd; and he had
compassion for them and cured their sick. 15 When it was evening, the
disciples came to him and said, "This is a deserted place, and the
hour is now late; send the crowds away so that they may go into the villages
and buy food for themselves." 16 Jesus said to them, "They need
not go away; you give them something to eat." 17 They replied, "We
have nothing here but five loaves and two fish." 18 And he said,
"Bring them here to me." 19 Then he ordered the crowds to sit
down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked
up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples,
and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 20 And all ate and were filled;
and they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets
full. 21 And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women
and children.
ANSWER: Jesus blessed the 5 loaves and 2
fish and gave them to his disciples and miraculously there was enough
to feed 5,000 men plus women and children. It was a miracle showing Jesus
power. It also showed he cared about the people.
Side Note: Theses are symbols of Jesus Miracles - not only this one.
2. Butterfly
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life;
he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
ANSWER: Jesus is the resurrection- which
is new life. It is like the butterfly getting new life in changing from
a larvae, pupae or caterpillar into a butterfly.
3. Dove
Mat 3:16 And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the
water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God
descending like a dove, and alighting on him;
ANSWER: This is the (dove) at Jesus (Baptism)
which was a sign of ( the spirit of God.)
4. Star
Mat 2:1in the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of
Judea, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, asking, " Where
is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in
the East, and have come to worship him."
Mat 2:9 When they had heard the king they went their way; and lo, the
star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came to
rest over the place where the child was.
ANSWER: This is the (star) over (Jesus Birthplace,
Jesus' manger or the stable where Jesus was born) which was a sign to
the ( wise men or kings) .
5. Palm Branches
John 12:13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him,
crying, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord,
even the King of Israel!"
ANSWER: Waved as a sign jesus is (king).
It is Palm Sunday.
6. Cup and Bread
Luke 22:19 And he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it
and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for
you. Do this in remembrance of me." Luke 22:20 And likewise the cup
after supper, saying, "This cup which is poured out for you is the
new covenant in my blood.
ANSWER: This is for Jesus (body) and (Blood).
It meant His sacrifice for us. It is (The last supper, the Lord's Supper,
Communion, the Eucharist)
7. Candle
John 8:12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the
world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the
light of life."
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world;
he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of
life."
John 9:5
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."
ANSWER: Jesus is (the light of the world).
It means He is lighting our way to eternal life or heaven, or He is showing
us the way out of the darkness ( a life of sin).
Side Note: A candle in the church sanctuary usually symbolizes Christ
with us.
8. The Vine
John 15:5
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in me, and I in him,
he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
ANSWER: Jesus is the (vine) you are the (Branches)
It means he is our lifeline. He will give us strength like the vine gives
strength to the branches. He will give us strength to do good things,
like the vine branches have the strength and power to produce fruit.
9.Lamb of God
John 1:36 and he looked at Jesus as he walked, and said, "Behold,
the Lamb of God!"
ANSWER: Jesus is (the lamb of God) . What
did it mean? Like a healthy lamb in Bible times was going to be killed
as an offering to God, (a sacrifice to please God, or ask for forgiveness
from God) Jesus was going to be killed as a sacrifice to God for all our
sins.
10. Crown
Luke 19:38
saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace
in heaven and glory in the highest!"
ANSWER: Jesus is (king). What did it mean?
Jesus is king of all mankind - not the king of just one country. His kingdom
is in heaven.
11. Good Shepherd
John 10:11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life
for the sheep. John 10:14 I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my
own know me,
ANSWER: Jesus is (the good shepherd). it
means he takes care of us people, like a shepherd takes care of his flock
of sheep. A shepherd protects his sheep, and cares for them. and guides
them. Jesus protects us, cares for us, and guides us.
